iWonder why Jon and Kate broke apart?

Jon and Kate plus 8. If you have Internet access and enough free time to be reading this blog post, I am sure you have heard of them. We all have questions about this match. How did it finally end? Why were they drawn together in the first place? Would they have ever had a chance if they hadn't had so many kids? Will they ever get back together? All questions we would like to know the answer too... so let's look at this astrologically, and see what answers we come up with.

Astrologically, Jon & Kate are a very interesting couple. They both have a sun in Aries. Having a sun in Aries myself, this gives me an added boost of understanding to their relationship. Honestly, as an Aries, I can say that an Aries/Aries match is the best match for an Aries, as long as there moon signs can balance out their fiery Aries personalities. I've never felt more compatibility or chemistry with any other sign then Aries, and in the long term, we always get along the best. It can be one of the best matches in the zodiac. So how did their relationship finally crack? Well we can't know for absolutely certain, but we can make a few basic educated guesses based on astrology.

First let's look at a basic understanding of each of the couples birth charts. Jon has a lot of Aries in his birth chart, but like me, he also has a moon in Virgo. I am an aries/virgo combination, so me and Jon are a like in a lot of ways. This sun moon combination creates a person that is very cool emotionally. Have you ever noticed how calm Jon is on the show? How much crap he can take? If you have ever known an Aries, you would realize this is pretty rare. Aries/Virgo's have a no-nonsense attitude, they are direct, efficient, and determined. But at the same time, they posses those strong fiery Aries attitudes: they are fun loving, confident, active, and very adventuring. Sometimes an Aires/Virgo can be critical, analytical, and exacting, but because of Jon's Mercury and Venus in Aries, he is probably a little but naturally leaned to his Aries side. He isn't as much of the “lone wolf” type that this sun/moon combination can be, and this is most likely because of his Venus in Aries that makes him more outgoing socially.

Kate's sun/moon combination is also fascinating. She has a sun in Aries and a moon in Libra. This combination of a Sun and Moon sign produces contradictions in her make-up because these signs are precisely opposite one another, a full 180 degrees apart. Aries and Libra are exact opposites in so many ways. Which is why it's very interesting that she has a sun in Aries and a moon in Libra. It makes her personality harder to predict because she is so internally conflicted. Usually someone with a moon in Libra can be more dependent then a usual Aries, they are also “people pleasers” and “day dreamers.” It makes them more well-rounded when taking into account the feelings of others, as they tend to look at both sides of a situation much more fairly then the average Aries does.

If you have ever watched the show, you would think that Jon was the Aries/Libra, as he seems to be more of the dependent, while you would think that Kate would be the Aries/Virgo because she seems to be more dominant, independent, and critical. I think this is how their relationship started out. Jon was more independent, he “wore the pants in the relationship” and it worked for Kate because she had a more dependent nature from her Libra moon. This dynamic in their relationship changed after they had 8 children though. Kate become more dominant, fiery, more of an Aries, because of the kids. Jon let her because the Virgo moon tends to make a person anti-confrontational and emtotionally cool. He was fine at first with letting her take the lead because he didn't want to start a fight, and emotionally, he is very calm and tranquil so he didn't mind. But deep down, it probably started to bother him years ago, and he built up resentment to it. But he didn't say anything because of his anti-confrontational ways (typical of an Aries/Virgo, believe me, as one, I know!)

By the time he realized how upset this change in their relationship dynamic was making him so unhappy (Because Aries/Virgos are out of touch with their emotions, it can sometimes take them a while to realize how unhappy they really are), Kate had already grown too independent and domineering in their relationship. He didn't know how to communicate that this made him so unhappy, so he probably remained quiet about why he was so upset. This would have been confusing to both of them. I would't be surprised if Jon knew he was angry and unhappy, but just wasn't sure why. And this led to the slow break down over their relationship, over months, maybe even years.

The Aries/Virgo builds up resentment, and then explodes. I know this, because I have done it before. As an Aries/Virgo I can say that most of the time I keep my emotions in check, but every once in a while, if I have held something in for a long period of time (usually years) I will just break down one day and get pissed off, and do something really stupid that I will regret doing for years. This is what I predict happened to Jon, he either started a major fight over something that seemed minor (which would make no sense to an Aries/Libra, who's logical mind couldn't figure out why he was so upset over something minor) or he did something stupid he later regretted.

Jon, also like me, has a Venus in Aries. This adds restlessness to us socially... if we are unhappy in a relationship, sometimes, we will have an affair. Now I'm not saying that's what happened. But based on birth charts, it wouldn't surprise me. I wouldn't think it would have been a long affair, most likely it was emotional (he fell in love with someone else but didn't have a physical relationship) or he grew angry and had a one night stand.

So this relationship either ended in a fiery fight beyond all fiery fights (two aries in a bad fight can be very ugly) or a slow break down with them both relationship wise, and a one night stand that put them both over the edge. So what does this mean for the future? Well like I said in the beginning, two Aries together is a wonderful match, they really have fun being themselves together, it's an amazing couple. But the change in the dynamics of their relationship, with Kate holding “the pants” in the relationship, is likely permanent, at least until the kids are older and Kate is under less stress. Right now, I would say they will remained divorced for a long while. Court battles between Aries can sometimes be legendery, but I don't think this is the case with them because of their moon signs. They both probably just want to move on, forgive and forget, all that fun stuff.

Years down the road, if Kate becomes more like a Libra again and Jon becomes less like a shelled in Virgo, they could be a good couple again. But I think by then they will have both found someone else. It really is too bad, I'm sure the first few years together as a couple, especially after they had just twins, were amazing, and wonderful. They would have made a great couple with a little less stress. But I am sure their 6 great kids are also worth the break down of one of the greatest love matches in the zodiac. An Aries/Libra and Aries/Virgo is not the best Aries/Aries match, but it's close. It's just too bad they couldn't survive those extremely stressful times.
